Nagaland: MoS inspects oil palm project, health facilities

DIMAPUR, JAN 22 (NPN)

Union Minister of State (MoS) for consumer affairs, food and public distribution and social justice & empowerment, BL Verma, visited the palm oil plantation site at Chümoukedima village and the Health and Wellness Centre at Diphupar B, Chümoukedima district, on January 22, 2026.
According to a DIPR report, the union minister, during his visit to the palm oil plantation, interacted with local farmers and officials. He also reviewed the progress of cultivation under the National Edible Oil – Oil Palm initiative. Verma emphasized the importance of palm oil cultivation in enhancing farmers’ income, promoting self-reliance in edible oil production, and strengthening the rural economy of the region.
At the health and wellness centre, Verma inspected the facilities and interacted with healthcare workers. The minister took stock of the services being provided and highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
