N.N. Nagi School celebrated its 7th Annual Day on Friday at the school auditorium in Kuda Village, Dimapur, under the theme “Winter Flair: A Floral Crescendo.” The event showcased the creativity, cultural spirit and resilience of students through a series of vibrant performances that captivated the audience.
The celebration was graced by Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, as the special guest. He also released the fifth volume of the school magazine during the function.
In his address, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel emphasized that education should bring out every child’s potential, build values, and prepare them for life. He highlighted skills like collaboration, curiosity, and communication, noting how he saw these in the students’ performances. He said that education today must teach children to select and use the right information rather than just memorise it.
Dr. Emmanuel also spoke about India’s young population and the need for value-based education rooted in ethics and character. He outlined CISCE’s global reputation, experiential learning approach and emphasis on arts, sports, creativity and innovation. Commending the school’s blend of traditional culture and global awareness, he said N.N. Nagi School has the potential to become one of the country’s leading institutions. He assured continued support from CISCE and extended greetings for Christmas and New Year.
Other highlights of the evening included lively choreography by Pre-Nursery and KG 1, a folklore skit by Grade 2, and a creative ramp walk by Grades 6 and 8 where students showcased outfits inspired by celebrity Met Gala looks crafted from fabric, plastic bags, paper foils, ribbons, and yarns. Grade 1 students performed a traditional song, while KG 2 delighted the audience with rhymes recitation, followed by a graceful flower dance from Grade 7 and dance numbers by Grade 5. Grades 9 and 10 staged a cultural extravaganza, presenting the traditional attire of various tribes of the state, complemented by a choral recitation from Grade 3 and a cotillion dance by Grade 4. Adding depth to the programme, students enacted a dramatic discourse titled “Readers! Readers, Wherefore Art Thou?”, while the evening also featured a classical dance by Dancing Triveni and a choral presentation by the school choir.
