Nagaland: Naga Club mourns the demise of Kewezü Mero

The Naga Club has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Kewezü Mero of Lekromi Village, who passed away on December 25, 2025, at his residence in Pfütsero Town. In a condolence message, the Naga Club described him as a steadfast and dedicated member who served the organization with unwavering commitment.
Kewezü Mero’s association with the Naga Club dates back to 1982 when he began serving as the joint secretary-cum-caretaker. His dedication and leadership were later recognized when he was elected as the advisor of the Naga Club on June 2, 2017, a role he carried out until his passing.
The Naga Club described Mero as a true Naga patriot and an invaluable leader. It praised his selfless service, his dedication to Naga issues, and the values he championed throughout his life. The organization expressed that his contributions would always be fondly remembered and cherished by the Naga people, particularly by the Naga Club.
In its statement, the Naga Club mourned the “irreparable loss” of a leader and extended its heartfelt condolences to Mero’s family, relatives, and loved ones. The Club also offered prayers for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
