Nagaland: Naga groups observe NSCN Raising Day

DIMAPUR, JAN 31 (NPN)

Several Naga Political Groups on January 31 observed the Raising Day, with commemorative programmes, tributes to fallen Naga heroes, and calls for unity, discipline, and renewed commitment to the Naga cause.
NSCN (I-M) chairman Q. Tuccu called for renewed commitment, discipline and selfless service among members while addressing the 47th NSCN Raising Day commemoration held at Camp Hebron on January 31, 2026.
Extending greetings on the occasion, Tuccu paid homage to those who had laid down their lives for the Naga cause. He said the journey of NSCN had been sustained by the dedication and sacrifice of its members and described the organisation’s growth as the result of the shared vision of the leaders and collective effort built over decades.
He recalled that after the demise of NNC, significant human and emotional resources were invested in raising NSCN, which he said was founded on sacrifice, discipline and conviction by the leaders and forerunners.

NSCN/GPRN-K Michael commemorated its 47th Raising Day of NSCN at its Central office premises on January 31, with thanksgiving, devotional service and pledge to God. Speaking at the programme as guest speaker, kilo kilonser Nokrang Lanu Aier, while extending his greeting and paying respect and tribute upon fallen Naga heroes, “Gone, but never forgotten.”
He also recounted the formation of NSCN on January 31, 1980, stating that it was established with the sole objective of achieving sovereign Naga nation.
Referring to the professed slogan “Nagaland for Christ,” he said that seeking the grace and guidance of the Almighty God would ultimately lead to the fulfillment of the Naga people’s aspirations.
He further asserted that the sacrifices and bloodshed of the “indomitable Naga soldiers” would not go in vain and urged the gathering to remain steadfast and resolute, while upholding the legacy and carrying forward a vision for the future.
