Nagaland: Naga indigenous games at Hornbill

A state level competition on Naga indigenous games was held on December 6 at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima, as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival.
According to a DIPR report, the event featured participation from various tribal communities in the Tribal Catapult Target Hitting and Tribal Spear Throw competitions.
The programme was organised to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Kohima, Department of Tribal Affairs, and funded by the TRI Division, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
In the Catapult Competition, defending champion Shangtok Phom of the Phom tribe retained his title, while Zulutoshi of the Ao tribe and Jill Sangma of the Garo tribe secured second and third positions respectively.
In the Spear Throw Competition, S. Buktok of the Phom tribe clinched the championship, with Khiti Kath of the Rengma tribe taking second place and Zulutoshi of the Ao tribe finishing third.
