Nagaland Namri calls for unity, quality education

DIMAPUR

MLA of 6 Tening A/C, Namri Nchang, inaugurated the newly constructed High School Section Building (second floor) of Yettrang School at Ahthibung, Peren, on November 22, 2025.
A DIPR report informed that the programme was attended by government officials, community leaders, church leaders and well-wishers. The dedicatory prayer was led by Rev. Lamkhotong Singson, area pastor, KBAN.
Speaking at the event, Nchang appreciated the efforts behind the institution and commended the collective contributions of the Kuki Baptist Association Nagaland (KBAN), which runs the school in partnership with Jesus Mission, South Korea. He encouraged stakeholders to continue working with the same commitment for the benefit of upcoming generations.
Emphasizing that quality education is essential for the progress and development of society, he called upon parents, teachers, students and the community to support meaningful learning outcomes and strive toward excellence, noting that the school holds vast potential to nurture students capable of competing confidently with their peers elsewhere.
Highlighting the role of students as future nation-builders, Nchang urged educators and parents to instill the right values to help them become responsible and productive citizens. He cautioned against substance abuse, stating that such practices hinder growth and well-being.
He reminded that contributing positively to society is also a service to God, and encouraged church and community leaders to work with sincerity and integrity. Stressing the importance of unity for progress, he reiterated that development is a shared responsibility involving GBs, village councils, women leaders, church leaders and the wider community.
Earlier, Rev. David Vaiphei, executive secretary, KBAN, presented a brief history of Yettrang School and highlighted the vision and efforts behind its establishment. Students of the school presented a special song, while KBAN president Lampao Singson delivered words of gratitude. The programme concluded with a benediction pronounced by Rev. Lamkholun Singson, youth secretary, KBAN.
