Nagaland: NCD revises burial grave charges at New Naga Cemetery

DIMAPUR

Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has announced a revision in burial grave construction charges at the New Naga Cemetery, Zani Village, effective January 1, 2026.
The decision was taken during its executive meeting on December 1, citing rising costs of construction materials.
In a press release, NCD president, G.K. Rengma and general secretary, L.K. Peter Anal informed that the fee for concrete burial grave construction has been increased from Rs. 12,000 to Rs.13,000, while the name entry charge remains unchanged at Rs. 1,000.
The Council clarified that grave size will be uniform at 6×3 feet, while tomb-roofing and site reservation will not be permitted. Families opting for granite or marble slabs with epitaph stands will be intimated separately regarding the cost.
NCD further appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness during burial services by avoiding littering with plastic bottles, waste papers and polythene, and to uphold the dignity of the cemetery through respectful conduct.
It reminded that upkeep of both New Naga Cemetery and Old Naga Cemetery was a collective responsibility of individuals, churches and civil society organisations (CSOs).
For burial arrangements, the Council advised contacting either the general secretary, L.K. Peter Anal at 9612167979, or the cemetery caretaker at 8787649681.
