Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, said that the merger of NDPP with NPF was intended to strengthen the Indo-Naga political talks.
Yanthan was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of Naga People’s Front (NPF) 39 Sanis Assembly Constituency (AC) under Wokha district, held on December 15 at the Multi-purpose Hall, Sanis.
He added that there was no fear of losing power or facing allegations under NDPP and reminded party workers that responsibility, not seniority, defines their role in the party. He cautioned that changes in alignment or leadership should reflect dedication and loyalty and not weaken the party.
Congratulating the party workers, Yanthan extended advance Christmas greetings to members of Wokha district and 39 AC. He urged them to uphold their oath and remain committed to the party without differences, stating that joining the NPF fold was aimed at strengthening unity under a single regional party rather than multiple regional parties, in line with the ideology of the long-standing Naga political negotiations.
Describing NPF as a well-structured political party that represents the aspirations of the Naga people, Yanthan encouraged party workers to work actively at the grassroots level, beginning with village booth committees. He also stressed the need to enroll more members, educate the public on the transition from NDPP to NPF, and work as one family with equal responsibility, without distinguishing between senior or original members.
The oath was administered by president of NPF Wokha division, Meribemo Kinghen.
