Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has reiterated its demand to the state government to immediately issue the work orders to all the remaining PWD divisions through an open tender on the second phase of the ongoing two-lane foothills road construction, under SASCI loan scheme, without further delay.
NFHRCC through its media cell said this was resolved at its first meeting of the year held at its base office, Kher Mahal, Dimapur on January 15, 2026. After elaborative discussions, NFHRCC said the meeting also resolved to urge upon the PWD (Road & Bridge) to immediately provide the galvanized steel structure materials to the concerned contractors of the five bridges under Baghty division to enable them to complete the work during this working season. Further, the committee resolved to acknowledge and cooperate with the initiative of the Lotha Hoho to jointly undertake a combined inspection visit of all stakeholders including the Lotha CSOs, the media fraternity, department officials and contractor firms to the nine work sites at Baghty division from Merapani O Point to the Doyang Bridge, Governor’s Camp, Liphanyan Village scheduled for January 21, 2026.
Meanwhile, NFHRCC expressed belated condolences to the bereaved families of two tribal leaders late Shikaho Zhimomi, Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) president, who passed away on December 16, 2025, in New Delhi and late Dr. Imchameran, vice president of Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur (ASTD). The committee acknowledged their visionary contributions toward the NFHRCC’s dreams and goals and conveyed deepest sympathies to their families.
