The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III convened a joint meeting of its executive committee and the executive council of the North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training and Research (NERIPSTR) on February 11, 2026, at Tamulpur, Bodoland, Assam.
Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, presided over the meeting as chairman and president. The session brought together Presiding Officers of the eight North Eastern States along with senior officials from their respective legislatures.
A key highlight of the meeting was the discussion on finalising dates for the upcoming 23rd Annual CPA Conference, proposed to be held in Agartala, Tripura. After deliberation, the committee tentatively agreed on April 21–27, 2026, subject to approval from the speaker of Lok Sabha. Reports on fund positions and audit matters were presented by the Secretary of CPA India Region Zone-III and the Director of NERIPSTR. The meeting also discussed fiscal measures to strengthen operational capabilities of the organisations. Proceedings concluded with exchange of pleasantries among the attendees.
