Nagaland: NNC/NPGN (NA) ato kilonser passes away

DIMAPUR, FEB 13 (NPN)

NNC/NPGN (Non- Accordist) ato kilonser and WC, NNPGs co-convener, Shitoho Chophy, has passed away at a private hospital in Guwahati on February 12, 2026.
Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) and NNC/GDRN (N-A) have mourned the sudden demise of Shitoho Chophy. NGBF through its media cell described late Chophy as “a young and promising leader” who served the Naga nation with dedication and commitment until his last breath. The federation stated that his gentle and decent personality reflected the true qualities of leadership, earning him respect and admiration from all sections of society.
In his demise, NGBF said the Naga political movement has lost a dynamic leader whose contributions were significant and invaluable. It also said that the vacuum created by his demise at this crucial juncture would be deeply felt by one and all. NGBF has expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant them strength and comfort in this hour of grief.
NNC/GDRN (N-A): NNC/GDRN (N-A) through its MIP expressed over the sudden and untimely demised of Shitoho Chophy.
In his demise, the group said Nagas have lost “a very tall leader and a true warrior,” who gave his everything for the cause of the Nagas.
NNC/GDRN (N-A) said late Chophy’s selfless sacrifices and valuable contribution for Naga national cause would “ever be impelled in the history of Naga Nation.”
NNC/GDRN (NA) convey sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives, near and dear ones. It prayed that Lord Almighty God give them the strength and courage and departed soul rest in eternal peace.
