Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Late Nkhao Lotha, former Minister and senior political leader, who passed away on February 5, after a prolonged illness.
A condolence message by NPF stated that Late Nkhao Lotha was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on NPF ticket during the 2003–2008 tenure and served the state with dedication and responsibility. In the later phase of his political life, he joined the Indian National Congress, where he was denied a party ticket. He subsequently contested the election but was not elected. His contribution to public life and governance will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
The funeral service would be held on February 6 at his native village, Pangti, while a send-off programme would take place at 8 AM today, from his residence in Dimapur. His mortal remains would be taken to Pangti via Kohima, with a brief stopover at Wokha town before proceeding to Pangti.
NPF further extended sincere sympathies to the bereaved family members, relatives, and well-wishers and prayed that the Almighty grants eternal rest to the departed soul and strength and comfort to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
