Naga People’s Front (NPF) has extended warm greetings to the Naga people and all citizens of India on the 77th Republic Day, reaffirming its commitment to democracy while advocating for the rights and aspirations of the Naga people.
Acknowledging India’s cultural diversity and the principles of equality and justice enshrined in the Constitution, the party emphasized the need for working together towards a harmonious and prosperous nation.
However, NPF expressed deep concern over the recent attack on a pastor in Odisha, calling it a stark reminder of the challenges faced by minority Christian communities. Highlighting India’s secular ethos, the party said such incidents undermine the nation’s values of tolerance and respect for all religions.
NPF strongly condemned the brutal act of forcing the Pastor to eat cow dung and chant religious slogans, terming it a grave violation of human dignity and constitutional rights. It said such attacks not only harm individuals but also tarnish India’s diverse cultural and social fabric.
The party urged the authorities to take immediate and decisive action to ensure justice and safeguard minority communities.
