Nagaland: NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) CFSB office cordoned, raided

A combined force of Dimapur Police, IRB and Assam Rifles personnel Thursday, cordoned off the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB) office of NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango-Vusshe) at Thilixu village Block-5 after which a raid was conducted.
The raid came close on the heels of the January 19 incident involving the alleged abduction of businessman Kiyeto Zhimomi by cadres of NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango-Vusshe).
However when queried, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Aotula Imchen clarified that the January 19 incident prompted the police as there were several other complaints against the group. CP also informed Nagaland Post that the police conducted the operation after the entire area surrounding the office was secured and access strictly regulated.
As part of the operation, security forces carried out thorough frisking of all vehicles and passers-by entering and moving through the vicinity.
She said the operation was aimed at ensuring that no culprits were hiding or taking shelter within the office premises. The CP further informed that police that besides raids at the CFSB office, the residence of the group’s ato kilonser, the defence kilonser, and a farmhouse belonging to a member of the group were also raided. When asked for further details regarding the findings of the raids, she said that as the investigation was ongoing, more details could not be shared at this stage.
Meanwhile, Police informed that the situation remained calm throughout the operation and that no untoward incident was reported till the filing of this report.

SCIDs of 4 NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) cadres cancelled

The Special Ceasefire Identity Cards (SCIDs) of four cadres of NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) faction have been cancelled with immediate effect following their alleged involvement in an abduction and assault case, an official order stated.
According to the order issued by the office of the chairman, Cease Fire Monitoring Group/Cease Fires Supervisory Board, the cancellation was based on a preliminary police enquiry after registration of a criminal case at Diphupar Police Station, Chümoukedima, under relevant sections of BNS and NSR.
The cadres whose SCIDs have been cancelled are H. Kiba (Card No. 58), Lovito Yeptho (Card No. 63), Viniho Kiho (Card No. 100) and Vika Chophy (Card No. 07).
The order stated that the four, along with Issak Rochill, Hukhevi Yeptho and Khuluto, have also been identified as being involved in the abduction and assault case. It further noted that other cadres of the group, whose names have appeared in the media and are widely circulated, are also under investigation.
The order said that the CFSB of NSCN (K) Khango has been directed to hand over the seven prime accused, suspected to be taking shelter at CFSB office, Thilixu, to the police for further necessary action. It also stated that if any of the accused are outside the CFSB office and evading arrest, they should immediately present themselves before the police for investigation.
