Nagaland: NSF meet on appointmentof MOs during Covid 19

DIMAPUR, FEB 4 (NPN)

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has convened its second Emergency Presidential Council Meeting following the expiry of an ultimatum served on the state government over the alleged arbitrary and unconstitutional regularisation of Medical Officers and other health workers appointed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press note, NSF general secretary Kenilo Kent informed that presidents of all federating units and subordinate bodies have been requested to attend the meeting scheduled for February 7 at 12 noon at the NSF office.
According to NSF, the meeting will deliberate and decide on an appropriate course of action in view of what it termed the state government’s continued disregard of resolutions adopted during the emergency presidential council meeting held on September 17, 2025.
NSF also referred to its December 20, 2025 ultimatum regarding the alleged illegal regularisation of COVID-19 appointees, which it said violated the constitutional mandate of NPSC and NSSB.
Stating that the issue had serious implications for Naga youth and the sanctity of merit-based recruitment, NSF urged all concerned units to attend without fail and said the house would decide on further democratic measures.
