Nagaland: NSF urges NBSE to act on CL IX paper leakage

DIMAPUR, DEC 2 (NPN)

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed grave concern over the leakage of question papers in the ongoing Class IX Final Examination 2025 Phase-II and appealed to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) to take stringent disciplinary action against those responsible.
In a letter addressed to NBSE chairperson, NSF vice president and convenor of the public grievances redressal cell, VimeyiekhoVitso, along with assistant general secretary and member of the Cell, Veze Tunyi, stated that such incidents compromise the sanctity of the examination process and erode the trust of students, parents and stakeholders in a system expected to uphold fairness, transparency and merit.
The Federation lamented that despite repeated instructions and protocols laid down by the Board, a breach of this nature had occurred, affecting thousands of young learners who rely on these assessments to measure their academic progress.
Acknowledging NBSE for taking immediate steps—including continuation of examinations as scheduled, strict confidentiality measures, and temporary withholding of results for four subjects—NSF maintained that decisive and exemplary disciplinary action was crucial.
NSF therefore appealed to NBSE to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to the leakage; impose strict disciplinary measures on any individual, whether staff, institutional head or other personnel, found to be involved directly or through negligence; and strengthen protocols and monitoring mechanisms within schools and examination centres to prevent recurrence.
The Federation asserted that timely and strong action by the Board would help restore confidence among students and reinforce the credibility of NBSE’s examination processes.

School terminates Staff: Meanwhile, it was learnt that the staff of PM Shri Government High School, Burma Camp, Dimapur, reportedly responsible for the leakage of question papers for the ongoing phase-II Class IX final examination, has been terminated from service.
