Nagaland NSO Kohima organises conference on ASI

DIMAPUR

The National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office, Kohima organised a one-day round table conference (RTC) on ‘Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) on October 28 at Hotel Saramati-‘Shilloi Lounge’ Dimapur where representatives from various factories (manufacturing, repairing, cold storage) of ASI units participated.
In a press release by NSO(FOD), regional office, Kohima, publicity cell, stated that the conference commenced with a brief note on ASI by E. Renbi Jami, ISS, Director, National Statistics Office (FOD), RO Kohima, highlighting the importance of the survey which generate the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country for the national policy making.
Avi Thakro, senior statistical officer presented the PPT and hands on ASI so that representatives learn and file the returns of ASI by themselves accessing to web-portal.
LK.Ngathingkhui, ISS, Assistant Director, National Statistics Office (FOD), RO, Kohima presented his ‘Experience on ASI’. Queries were raised by the representatives in respect to filing of returns, and were clarified accordingly.
Feedback questionnaires were distributed, and most representatives expressed that more conferences or training sessions should be organized. They found Thursday’s RTC useful and mentioned that they will now attempt to compile the ASI returns on their own.
The programme was chaired by Athuo Kaihrii, SSO, welcomed by R.Mhabemo Ngullie, SSO and ended with vote of thanks by Nenghoilhing Haolai,SSO
