Nagaland NSS participates in NE NSS youth festival

National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from Dimapur Government College and Pfütsero Government College, numbering 18 and 12 respectively represented Nagaland NSS at the North East NSS Youth Festival held at Mizoram University, Aizawl, from February 15 to 19.
The youth festival was organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India and NSS Regional Centre (NER) Guwahati in collaboration with Mizoram state NSS (cell) and sports and youth services, government of Mizoram.
The festival included various activities and programmes such as cultural exchange programmes, self-defense training (Judo), lecture on crime against women, human trafficking- problems and prevention, voluntary blood donation, disaster management and personality development through community services.
A release by programme officer, National Service Scheme, Dimapur Government College Mezhülhoulie Angami stated that the NSS volunteers of Nagaland presented cultural dances, folk songs and many other songs whereby they showcased our rich culture, traditions and young talents.
NSS DGC conducts special camp and social work
Meanwhile, National Service Scheme (NSS), Dimapur Government College (DGC) conducted a special camp from February 6 to 12 at the college’s campus, Kacharigaon (Phevima Village) under the theme “Take the opportunity to help the community”.
 Altogether 100 volunteers participated in the special camp along with two programme officers, M. Angami and Vivi Swu.
A release by programme officer, stated that besides conducting social work at Kacharigaon, a session on disaster management and awareness on Aids was also conducted in the college campus.
Principal, DGC, Kuholi Chishi along-with the College Development Committee members and associate professors Bendangsangba and Thangsoi, supervised the social work, stated the release.
