Nagaland University celebrated contributions of sanitation workers during the Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir (Safai Mitra Security Camp), as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024, on October 1, at I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall, Lumami, with Vice Chancellor, Prof. JK Patnaik, as chief guest.
A press release by NU inform that Prof. Patnaik in his address emphasized the vital role sanitation workers play in maintaining cleanliness and fostering positive environment at the university, and urged them to embrace their responsibilities and carry out their duties with diligence, highlighting how their efforts can steer the university toward brighter future.
Deputy Registrar, Finance Section, Angunuo Khieya, also enlightened attendees about various government schemes that could benefit everyone in general and sanitation workers in particular.
She focused on entitlements related to housing, electricity, water, health, food, ration cards, and banking, encouraging everyone to take advantage of these opportunities.
