The semi-finals of the 15th Lotha Football Championship 2026 produced thrilling football action at the Public Ground, Wokha, as Nyiro Range FC and Nitsuyan FC booked their places in the grand finale.
In the first semi-final, Nyiro Range FC edged past Tsumang FC 2–1 in a closely contested encounter. The match was patronised by president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Vungathung Murry. A packed crowd, including a strong contingent of Sumi supporters, added to the charged atmosphere. Nyiro Range FC struck early through Nyanthung in the opening minute.
Tsumang FC fought back with determined build-up play but lacked finishing precision. Zuthungo’s decisive strike in the 78th minute proved crucial, as Tsumang’s Chumchanthung pulled one back in the 79th minute, but it was not enough to deny Nyiro Range FC a spot in the final.
The second semi-final saw Nitsuyan FC deliver a commanding performance, defeating Yon Sporting Club 4–0 under the patronage of deputy chairperson, Nzano Kikon. Nitsuyan FC showcased excellent coordination and attacking discipline throughout the match.
Zaremo opened the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by Ayenmomga’s goal in the 41st minute. Ayenmomga added his second in the 68th minute, before Yiben Ezung sealed the emphatic victory with a strike in the 78th minute.
With these results, Nyiro Range FC and Nitsuyan FC will face off in the final on February 7 at the public ground, Wokha. The championship decider promises a high-voltage clash between two in-form sides. The final will be graced by Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe, MLA, as special guest, with AIFF executive committee member and president of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), K. Neibou Sekhose, attending as special invitee.
