DIMAPUR

Advisor of New & Renewable Energy (N&RE) and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, inaugurated the Akhegwo Village Council Hall constructed under the LADP Iconic Project on December 17.
Addressing the gathering, Nyuthe stressed the importance of preserving local dialects, stating that language formed the foundation of community identity and unity. He lauded the collective efforts of the people of Akhegwo village, noting that the successful completion of the hall was made possible through cooperation, dedication and community participation.
The advisor expressed gratitude to local workers for their commitment and appreciated the Mechu Chugho Clan for generously donating land for the construction of the hall, describing it as a noble contribution towards community welfare.
Sharing a narration, Nyuthe emphasised that teaching a person how to fish ensured self-reliance rather than offering short-term help. He also dwelt on the importance of unity and called for doing away with all forms of “isms” that were destroying the fabric of society.
He concluded by stating that the Village Council Hall should serve as a centre of learning and a space where justice, unity and harmony prevail, benefiting present and future generations of the village.
ADC Meluri, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, also conveyed greetings. EAC Meluri HQ, Pipfusa Pojar, and District Planning Officer of Meluri and Phek, Atu Vasa, were part of the entourage along with other public and party leaders.

David, council secretary. Vote of thanks was proposed by P. Nuepeng, VDB secretary. Cultural performances were presented by men and women folk, and the programme concluded with a benediction by N.
