Nagaland’s Odimongba brought pride to the state by securing a bronze medal in the 64 kg Senior Men’s category at the 14th National Para Judo Championship 2025, held from December 19 to 23 at Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
Competing against top athletes from across the country, Odimongba displayed remarkable determination and skill to clinch the podium finish. The championship was organized to promote equal opportunities, inclusion, and sporting excellence among visually impaired judo players nationwide. His achievement highlights Nagaland’s growing presence in national para-sports.
In the -62 kg Youth category, Hongkham also represented Nagaland and advanced to the semi-finals. Despite a commendable effort, he fell short in both the semi-final and the third-place playoff.
The Nagaland contingent was accompanied by Razouvinuo Rio as Team Manager and Somnath Chakraborty as Team Coach, representing the Nagaland Blind and Para Judo Association.
This accomplishment stands as a proud moment for Nagaland and serves as an inspiration for aspiring para-athletes across the state, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and excellence in sports.
