The Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) today held a launching program of Mission Vision – 2045 under the theme “Shisashir Motsüngnem” here at Ongpangkong Salang.
The Mission Vision – 2045 is established by the OKM to help and assist selected students in their studies by giving a sum of Rs. 50,000 every year through this project. The project will continue for twenty years from 2025 till 2045.
For the year 2025, two students were selected for the project and the money was handed over today at the program. The awards were received by Etidangla (Mangmetong Kaketshir Telongjem) B.Sc 3rd Sem Chemistry Hons Fazl Ali College and Moarenba Jamir (Soyim Shisaluyimer Telongjem) B.A 1st Sem Economics Hons, Kohima College
Marsanen Imsong, president Ao Senden who spoke as the special guest in the programme, expressed optimism that the efforts made in the present will definitely bear fruit in the long run. He further lauded the efforts of the OKM for the initiative. He further encouraged the students saying that their efforts are more important and that it is due to their sheer effort and determination that they are rewarded.
Talking about unemployment, the Ao Senden president said that focus should be more on oriented skills though competitive exams are also important. He further called for prioritizing economic sustainability in order to move the society forward and achieve the desired goal.
Earlier in the program, short speeches were delivered by Lanutoshi Aier President AKM and Alemtsohi Imsong President Ongpangkong Mungdang. The welcome address was delivered by Tongpangmangtang Kichu, President OKM.
Aso Imsong, Convener OKM Mission Vision – 2045 explained and presented awards given away by Marsanen Imsong. The program also witnessed the presentation of a special song by Khensa Students’ Union. The vote of thanks was delivered by Takotiba Jamir Education Secretary OKM .
