Nagaland: Organisations condole demise of WSH president Shikaho Zhimomi

Several organisations and individuals have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) president, Shikaho Zhimomi, who passed away on December 16 at New Delhi while undergoing medical treatment.
NCD: Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) councillors and office bearers described Shikaho as an energetic leader whose presidency had ushered in strong bonds among different Naga tribes. NCD said he exemplified selfless dedication to the service of the Sumi community and Nagas at large, adding that his legacy of unity and leadership would continue to be cherished.
Kaito Aye: Minister for PWD (Roads & Bridges), G. Kaito Aye, described late Shikaho demise as an irreparable loss for the Sumi community and the people of Nagaland. He said Zhimomi was a devoted and steadfast leader who dedicated his life to the welfare, unity and collective interests of the people. Kaito noted that his commitment, leadership and tireless efforts in safeguarding community rights and social harmony would be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Tovihoto: Advisor, Elections and Tribal Affairs, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, in a message on X, said late Shikaho devoted his life to selfless service and his leadership would be remembered with gratitude and reverence.
DUCCF: Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) described him as a towering leader who embodied humility and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on society through his lifelong commitment to unity and upliftment.
NGBF: Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) recalled him as a soft-spoken leader of humility and wisdom, while Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) said the Gorkha community had lost a dear friend and sympathiser who always treated them with love and care.
WSKH: Western Sümi Kükami Hoho (WSKH) termed his demise an immense loss not only to the Sümi people but to the entire Naga community, noting his tireless efforts to foster unity and welfare.
CNTC: Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) president Khondao Ngully described him as a man of wisdom and unwavering service, whose contributions would remain etched in collective memory and continue to inspire future generations.
Ao Senden: Ao Senden, through its president Marsanen Imsong and general secretary Imtipokyim, remembered him as a dynamic, straightforward and jovial personality, whose untimely demise was termed an irreparable loss to the community.
NZPO: Nagaland Zeliang People Organization (NZPO) general secretary Enchang Hiaka described Shikaho as a brother to the community and commended his devoted sacrifice, integrity and commitment to societal welfare, adding that his passing was a great loss to the Naga people.
WCH: Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) in its message, said Shikaho was a leader of integrity and selfless dedication who earned the respect and trust of all. It noted that under his leadership, the two organizations shared a relationship of deep cooperation and mutual respect, reflecting his belief in unity and brotherhood. WCH added that his life remains an enduring example of servant leadership and his absence leaves a void not easily filled.
KU: Konyak Union (KU) also described his demise as a great loss not only to the Sumi community but to the entire Naga society. The Union said Shikaho was a visionary leader who upheld unity, peace and social harmony, inspiring many and strengthening bonds among different Naga tribes.
DNSU: Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) remembered him as a respected leader and social worker whose contributions for upliftment of society would always be cherished.
SKK: All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) remembered him as a leader who set exemplary standards and extraordinary benchmarks, inspiring generations through his selfless service and unwavering commitment.
AICC: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Department, through its national coordinator Rajesh Kumar Sethi, said late Shikaho would be remembered for his dignity, wisdom and contributions to society.
GRPN/NSCN (U): The Collective Leadership of GPRN/NSCN (Unification) said that the demise of Shikaho had created a void in the initiatives towards an amicable political solution. It noted that his presence and interventions in resolving conflicts among neighbouring communities would be remembered for years to come. The Naga National leadership acknowledged the concerns he consistently raised regarding the inordinate delay in the political solution, adding that he had cautioned about the changing dimensions of the peace process with the passage of time and prolonged delays.
NSCN/GPRN (Akato): Ministry of Information & Publicity (MIP), NSCN/GPRN (Akato), described late Shikaho as a beloved leader who led an exemplary life and left behind a legacy of truth, perseverance, tolerance, selflessness and inclusiveness. It said his passing was a great loss to the Sümis and the Nagas in general, noting that his leadership would be difficult to replace.
DCCI: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) said late Shikaho worked tirelessly for public welfare and said his endearing personality played a key role in bridging many challenges faced by the business community. DCCI stated that late Shikaho left behind a legacy of a life well-lived and that the business community of Dimapur would always remember his contributions and kind-heartedness.
NGA: Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) said that they have lost one of its dearest friends and sympathisers, who always treated them with love and care and inspired many. The association extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
DDCF: Dimapur District Citizen’s Forum (DDCF) in a message, said the demise of Shikaho was a great loss to the community and conveyed prayers that Almighty God’s grace would comfort the bereaved family during this time of sorrow.
DLYO: DimapurLotha Youth Organization (DLYO) described late Shikaho as a towering leader who embodied selfless service, humility, and unwavering dedication to the Sumi community and the Naga people at large. DLYO said his lifelong commitment to social unity, community upliftment, and principled leadership has left an indelible mark on society, and his contributions will continue to inspire present and future generations.
TUD: Tangkhul Union Dimapur (TUD), in its message, said late Shikaho was known for tirelessly working for the welfare of the Sumi community and for strengthening harmony within the larger Naga society. It described him as a towering figure whose void would be deeply felt.
KTCN: Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) recalled his warm brotherhood towards the Kachari community and his efforts to strengthen inter-tribal harmony, while Dimasa Naisho Hosom (DNHC) described him as a humble and friendly leader whose absence would be deeply felt.
SU: Satakhami Union (SU) also termed his demise a great loss to the Nagas and the Sümi community, stating that his leadership qualities and integrity would continue to inspire younger generations. All the organisations conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed that the Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength and comfort to all who mourn his passing.
