Nagaland: PAPO urges NNC workers to unite

DIMAPUR

Phek Area Public Organization (PAPO) has called upon all Naga national workers under the NNC to unite under one umbrella in the true spirit of oneness.
In a press release PAPO president Wepelou Mebou and general secretary Vechizo Khamo, said that in line with the standing resolution of the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO), PAPO reaffirmed its support to the Naga people’s movement under the NNC and endorsed the call to put on hold any form of taxation by Naga political groups. It reiterated commitment to the original principles of the NNC, for which many patriots had made supreme sacrifices, and urged unity for “one voice and one tax” in the greater interest of the Naga people.
PAPO noted that the proliferation of factions in recent times has created confusion in differentiating genuine Naga political groups pursuing the people’s aspirations from those formed for vested interests, resulting in rampant multiple taxation. PAPO, being part of the CPO, said it adhered to the standing resolution to uphold the original Naga national principle of the NNC adopted on May 30, 1990 at Kikruma and reaffirmed on June 16, 1994.
