Nagaland state, along with 702 districts of the country participated in the 9th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) of the INSPIRE MANAK at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from September 14-16.
In a press release, SCERT Nagaland associate professor and nodal officer for INSPIRE MANAK scheme, Daniel Thong Seb stated that from Nagaland, Temsujungla Jamir from MGHSS under Mokokchung district, was among the top 60 innovators who ideated the mechanical cassava grinding machine.
At the valedictory programme, union minister of Science and Technology, minister of state (independent charge), Dr. Jitendra Singh presented mementos and certificates to the top 60 award recipients.
In his speech, Dr. Jitendra Singh said during the year 2020-21, while the country was battling with the impact of COVID-19, the annual INSPIRE awards-MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) competition received an unprecedented 6.53 lakh ideas and innovations from all states.
He stated that the scheme touched an unparalleled level of inclusivity by representing ideas and innovations of 702 districts of the country. It may be mentioned that the award is instituted by the ministry of Science and Technology, department of Science and Technology and National Innovation Foundation-India.
While congratulating Temsujungla Jamir, SCERT Nagaland, director Chumchanbeni Kikon also requested all schools in Nagaland to register in the INSPIRE Awards-MANAK scheme portal and nominate students for the award.
