Nagaland pavilion, showcasing handicrafts and handloom products of the state, was inaugurated at the ongoing 14-day India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi on November 14.
The pavilion at Hall No-3 at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan) was inaugurated by Akali V Konghay, Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel, Ministry of Law & Justice, Legislative Department, Govt, of India, New Delhi. The exhibition will conclude on November 27.
Officals from Thailand Pavilion, Manipur Pavilion also attended the inaugural function. 26 artisans are participating in the exhibition including Padma Shri Awardee, Neihunuo Sorhie and many other prominent artisans.
Akali, while interacting with the artisans appreciated the creative handiworks and encouraged all the participants to preserve and showcase the rich and vibrant Handloom and Handicraft through various exhibitions. She also appreciated the initiative of the government of Nagaland for giving a platform to the artisans to showcase their products.
K. Francis Hekavi, Pavilion Director, Nagaland Pavilion appreciated all the participants for their co-ordination with the department and emphasized that not only products displayed and sold but also the courtesy shown to the visitors will highlight the image of Nagaland.
