Advisor of Law and Justice, Land Revenue, TN Mannen maintained that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) consensus candidate for the Lok Sabha poll, Dr. Chumben Murry, a member of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), was not against any religion or any particular section of the people.
Culminating his campaign tour for the PDA consensus candidate at 23 Impur Assembly Constituency (AC) Wednesday, Mannen, in his address at Mopungchukit Village, reminded that the BJP in the state was part of the ruling PDA government, which also happened to be ruling in the Centre.
A press release by the private secretary to advisor stated that while extending support to the NDPP candidate, Mannen said Dr. Chumben would be the most capable candidate to represent the Nagas, who could also safeguard and defend the rights of the people in the lower house.
Sharing his optimism for the BJP-led alliance to come to power in the Centre for the third time, Mannen said it would be “advantageous for a resource-poor state” like Nagaland to have a “good working alliance” with the central government. He then said electing Dr. Chumben will be the ideal option for the benefit of the state. Mannen also asked the gathering to desist from delving into past misunderstandings among the constituency people due to political differences but strive to move forward in unity for the overall progress of Impur constituency.
Mayangnungba, president of NDPP Mokokchung region and a host of NDPP Mokokchung region officials also spoke at the programme. Later, the advisor visited his native village, Longjang village, for a public meeting.
