Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PDCCI) organised its first-ever “PDCCI Award Ceremony cum Advent Christmas 2025” on December 17 at the Clock Tower, coinciding with the concluding day of the PDCCI Annual Night Bazaar 2025.
The programme brought together shop owners, local vendors, young entrepreneurs and well-wishers in a festive setting that blended the spirit of Christmas with the vibrancy of the Night Bazaar.
Honoured guest deputy commissioner, Phek, Rhosietsho Nguori, lauded PDCCI for initiating a meaningful and timely programme. He remarked that the combination of Christmas celebrations and Night Bazaar activities created a unique and positive atmosphere for the town. Emphasizing the vital role of the business community in society and in strengthening the local economy, he encouraged PDCCI members to continue providing quality services even during challenging times. He also expressed hope that healthy competition among businesses would continue for the benefit of the entire community.
PDCCI president Razoukhruyi Dozo described the event as a new milestone for the business community in Phek. He said the awards were introduced to motivate local vendors and young entrepreneurs to engage in healthy competition, particularly in areas such as customer management, cleanliness, hygiene, and shop presentation and decoration. Terming this year’s event an “ice-breaking session,” he added that it was aimed at familiarising participants with the concept as PDCCI works towards its vision of “building a new Phek.”
The award ceremony was conducted by search committee convenor Zachive Rhakho, who announced Dumpling Den, Tive Bakery and Grocery & Drinks Depot as the three Best Performing Shops, in recognition of their excellence in customer care, cleanliness and creative presentation.
Special musical performances were presented by Vamvelu, Meyiete, Aren, Sakulu and Nurile Anuri. The programme concluded with a closing prayer by associate pastor of PTBC, Khrusazo Nyekha.
General secretary Pio Veswu expressed gratitude to the honoured guest, programme participants, local artists, PDCCI members and well-wishers for their presence and support. He also acknowledged the cooperation extended throughout the PDCCI Annual Night Bazaar 2025, which he said contributed to the success and memorability of the event.
