Nagaland Pencak Silat Association lauds state govt for support

DIMAPUR, AUG 30 (NPN)

The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association thanked the department of youth resources & sports, government of Nagaland for recognizing and felicitating 31 meritorious Pencak Silat athletes out of 151 sportspersons from various sports disciplines with cash awards on the occasion of National Sports Day held at IG Stadium, Kohima on August 29.
A press release by the General Secreatry cum Head Coach of Nagaland Pencak Silat Association, Deep Kumar thanked Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, for his unwavering commitment and visionary leadership in promoting sports across the State.
The release stated that under Dr Rio’s dynamic guidance, Nagaland has witnessed a renewed focus on developing sports infrastructure, supporting athletes through financial assistance and creating opportunities for participation at the national and international levels, adding that his encouragement and belief in the potential of the youth have greatly inspired athletes to pursue excellence and bring glory to Nagaland.
The Association stated that it also placed on record its appreciation to MLA and Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, S. Keoshu Yimkhiung, for his relentless dedication towards empowering young sportspersons of the State.
The release stated that S. Keoshu Yimkhiung’s proactive efforts in extending financial assistance to meritorious athletes and his vision to strengthen the grassroots structure of sports have greatly benefited various disciplines, including Pencak Silat and that Yimkhiung’s consistent support has provided encouragement to athletes, motivating them to work harder and achieve success at higher levels.
Further, the Association conveyed gratitude to Kethosituo Sekhose, director of the department of youth resources and sports, for his larger vision and tireless efforts to promote and uplift sports in the State, adding that his guidance and dedication have been instrumental in creating platforms for athletes to shine and represent Nagaland with pride.
The recognition of 31 Pencak Silat athletes out of 151 sportspersons across multiple disciplines is not only a reward for their hard work and achievements but also a motivation for the entire sporting fraternity to strive for greater excellence, Nagaland Pencak Silat Association stated.
The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association further affirmed its commitment to nurturing young talent, upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and contributing to the growth of sports in Nagaland.
