The 4 elite athletes from Nagaland Pencak Silat Association are currently undergoing an intensive three-month Pencak Silat National Training and Coaching Program at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
The program, Pencak Silat- Road to Olympic which brings together the top 100 athletes from across India under Indian Pencak Silat Federation affiliated states aims to prepare national-level players for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games and 2028 Olympic Games.
The prestigious camp is being conducted under the guidance of International Pencak Silat coach and the legend of Pencak Silat Suhud Indratno from Indonesia who is a highly respected martial artist, educator and mentor in the global Silat Community and under his
guidance, the national training program in Srinagar emphasizes technical mastery, tactical intelligence, physical conditioning and psychological readiness, equipping athletes with international-standard training methodologies.
The represented Nagaland athletes are:
Kitenlo K. Thono: International silver medalist at the 3rd Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025, Vietnam and gold medalist at the 37th National Games 2023, Goa and gold medalist at 3rd North East Games 2024, Nagaland and Senior National at Lucknow 2025, Uttar Pradesh.
Kevin: Dual gold medalist at the Khelo India Beach Games 2025, Diu and the All India University Games 2025, Bangalore, Karnataka and 3 gold medal at 3rd North East Games 2024, Nagaland and silver and bronze medalist in at Senior National at Bhubneswar, Oddisa 2024.
Hinokali: Dual Bronze Medalist at the 3rd Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025, Vietnam and 37th National Games 2023, Goa and 2 gold medal at 3rd North East Games 2024, Nagaland and gold medalist at Senior National at Lucknow 2025, Uttar Pradesh.
Avikali V. Shequi: bronze medalist at the 37th National Games 2023, Goa and 2 gold medal at 3rd North East Games 2024, Nagaland Gold Medalist at Senior National at Bhubneswar, Oddisa 2024 and Silver Medalist at Khelo India beach Games 2025, Diu.
The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association expressed immense pride, stating that having athletes train under an international coach Suhud Indratno is a remarkable opportunity.
