Nagaland: Peren DPDB approves ‘Iconic Project’

Members of District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Peren has approved “Iconic Project” for 7 Peren A/C, at the DPDB meeting held on October 7 at DC Conference Hall, Peren.


According to DIPR report, under the iconic project, construction of Council Halls in Jalukie Zangdi village and Dungki village will be taken up. The House also decided to organise a unity Mini Hornbill Festival from December 5 to 7, 2024 in two locations, where formal programme will be held at DC’s Office Complex and informal programme at Zero Point. In view of this, Deputy Commissioner, Hiazu Meru has requested all the DPDB members to be actively involved for the successful conduct of the festival.

The house also decided to conduct Inter-Departmental Tournament from November 7-9 at Jalukie. On the agenda for full functional of DIET centre under Jalukie Sub-division, DC has entrusted ADC Jalukie to verify the land. The board also approved and recommended the registration of societies in respect of Rani Gaidinliu Vedic Gurukulam Society at Azailong Village and Liangmai Baptist Aruang (LBA) at Tening.

Other agendas discussed in the meeting included: DPDB Pilot Projects for off-season crops at New Tesen Village; issues of water supply & electricity connections at District HQ. and establishment of new EBRC and SDEO Office under Jalukie Sub-division.

Deputy Commissioner further reminded the members on the conduct of Table Top Exercise with the line departments and stake holders to be organised by the DDMA on October 22 2024, and on the actual Mock Exercise to be conducted on October 24. He requested the departments to be prepared for the same.
Earlier, DC who chaired the meeting welcomed all the members, followed with a brief review of the decision taken in the previous meeting.
