Nagaland Phoenix FC, MSU clinch titles at 8th Zasinihu Memorial Trophy

DIMAPUR, Nov 12 (NPN)

The Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) organized the 8th Zasinihu Memorial Trophy-cum-2nd WASU Women’s Volleyball Tournament from November 6 to 8 at Sechiima Mechii Dzie, bringing together teams in a spirited display of sportsmanship and community participation.
In the football event, Phoenix FC emerged as champions, securing the title along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and a trophy. Zasivi Peseyie FC finished as runners-up and received Rs. 30,000.
In the women’s volleyball competition, Mezoma Students’ Union claimed the champion’s title and was awarded Rs. 20,000, while Khonoma Students’ Union stood as runners-up, receiving Rs. 10,000.
Altogether, 15 teams competed in the football category and 8 teams in women’s volleyball, reflecting strong participation and enthusiasm from across the region. The event was hosted by the Sechiima Students’ Union, adding to the festive and competitive spirit of the tournament.
