Nagaland: PM Shri Govt High School Kiruphema wins Wipro earthian annual award

DIMAPUR

PM Shri Government High School, Kiruphema, Kohima has won the prestigious Wipro earthian Annual Award, with its sustainability and water team being recognised for exemplary work in sustainability-focused learning.
According to a press release, this year, 25 school teams were selected as winners from over 2,000 project submissions across the country after multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation by an independent jury. The Wipro earthian Annual Awards marked the culmination of a year-long programme, recognising months of dedication, inquiry and innovation by students and educators from schools and colleges nationwide. The winning teams represented India’s rich geographical and cultural diversity, spanning regions from Nagaland to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and from Ladakh to Tamil Nadu.
The award ceremony was graced by CEO, Azim Premji Foundation, Anurag Behar, and global head of sustainability and ESG, Wipro Limited, and Managing Trustee, Wipro Foundation, P. S. Narayan, along with other senior leaders from Wipro, who felicitated the awardees. In addition to the awards, the event offered an immersive learning experience for the winners. Students and teachers participated in nature walks, creative workshops on art, storytelling and musical writing, as well as plenary sessions on key sustainability themes, all curated by subject experts. The programme also featured a special musical performance by Vasu Dixit and an inspiring talk by renowned wildlife biologist and conservation scientist Dr. Ravi Chellam.
