Nagaland Police arrest 3 with opium

Nagaland police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS (PHQ) on September 22, arrested Ameer Khan (29), son of Saleem Mohammed of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Iman Ali (49) son of Jinat Ali of Nagaon, Assam and Ramjan Ali (20) son of Enach Ali of Nagaon, Assam on charges of possessing nine kgs of suspected opium.
According to police PRO, the police personnel while conducting surprise MVCP at NH-2, intercepted one Mahindra vehicle Scorpio (AS02AA/2619) at National Highway-2 near Viswema Y Junction Pfütsero/Imphal road, which was proceeding from Imphal, Manipur via Kohima to Nagaon, Assam.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, PRO informed that ten packets containing around nine kgs of suspected opium were recovered. The illegal contraband along with the vehicle were seized and a case under NDPS Act was registered for further investigation.
