Nagaland police rescue abducted businessman; 5 arrested

DIMAPUR, OCT 25 (NPN)

A businessman, reportedly a local fish wholesaler, was rescued on Friday after being abducted from his residence by three unidentified individuals, police said. The incident was reported around 2:35 pm, prompting an immediate search operation.
In a press note, DCP Crime & PRO Dimapur police said that based on information a search operation was carried out during which five persons were apprehended and the victim rescued from Dubagaon area. PRO stated that the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has been seized, a case registered at East Police Station, and investigations are currently underway.
PRO said the arrested individuals were identified as– Antu Mech (30), present address- Padumpukhuri block-3 and tatar of NSCN-led Wangtin; Nagato Sumi (37), P/A block-2 Padumpukhuri, rajapeyu of NSCN-led Wangtin; David Chishi (40), P/A block-2 Padumpukhuri; Amento Swu (40), P/A Diphupar A and Ruksana Begum (28), P/A Neisato colony, Khermahal, Dimapur.
