Following the launch of a manhunt for a suspect involved in the attempted armed robbery at the State Bank of India (SBI) Chedema branch, the Kohima police have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the accused.
Kohima police identified the suspect as one Vitoulu Domeh (35), son of Kho Domeh, a resident of Zhavame village under Phek district.
Police have urged the members of the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the suspect.

Police assured that all details shared would be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
Further, police requested that any relevant information or sightings be reported to the officer-in-charge, North Police Station, Kohima, at Phone: 6009308087 / 8974821030.
It may be recalled that on October 31, 2025, a brazen armed robbery attempt was thwarted at the State Bank of India (SBI) Chedema branch.
At around 12:30 p.m., the suspect, reportedly armed with a pistol and threatening to detonate a body-worn explosive device, entered the bank and demanded money.
However, the quick and decisive response of the on-duty bank security guards prevented the robbery.
They managed to recover the looted cash and seize the pistol, though the suspect escaped from the scene before police could arrive.
Kohima Police have registered a case at the North Police Station and stated that a full-scale investigation is underway to apprehend the accused.
Police have further urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements that could aid in the ongoing investigation.
