Intensifying its ‘War against Drugs’, the Nagaland police have seized illicit drugs worth Rs.14.97 crore during the last one week.
According to police, on June 12, 2025, the Narcotic PS, PHQ, intercepted a vehicle (Hyundai i20) and seized six packets weighing 5.950kg (approx.) of suspected brown sugar worth Rs.6 crore from the fabricated, concealed compartment located under the driver’s seat and the co-passenger seat of the vehicle.
In this connection, police said two persons identified as one Durg Singh and Matu Singh, both from Rajasthan, were arrested. During the investigation, police found that the consignment was brought from Manipur and was to be supplied to a person named Bharat in Guwahati.
In another operation, Narcotic PS on June 14, 2025 seized 70 soap cases containing suspected heroin (Shan Flower) weighing 739gms (approx.) worth Rs.5.17 crore.
Two persons identified as one Visani and Th. Pavikho of Manipur were arrested.
Police ascertained that the consignment was sent by a person identified as one Sani a.k.a. Kavisii a.k.a. Kavi from Manipur.
On June 17, 2025, Kohima Highway Patrol Party intercepted a suspected vehicle (Marini Baleno) and recovered 50 soap cases containing suspected Heroin (Shan flower) weighing about 549gms worth Rs.3.8 crore.
Accordingly, police said the transporter identified as one L. Rulu was arrested.
