Nagaland: Power shutdown in four districts


Power department has informed that there would be total shutdown of power at 66/33kV Tuensang substation, 132/33kV GIS Tuensang substation & 132/66/33kV Kiphire substation on April 8, 2026 from 8am to 5pm.
The areas to be affected include Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator, Kiphire districts Likimro Hydro Project & Longkhim/Chare areas. In a press release, transmission division Mokokchung executive engineer Hekaito Assumi styated that the exercise was necessitated for stringing of 132kV Transmission lines at Tuensang and Kiphire substation in order to facilitate charging of New GIS Tuensang substation at rated voltage from Kiphire Substation. The department informed that 132kV Kiphire-Tuensang transmission line was scheduled to be test charged at rated 132kV voltage effective from April 8, 2026 evening upon completion.
Therefore, the department has appealed to all public in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
