Samagra Shiksha Nagaland conducted a one day training programme for district/block level functionaries at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima in connection with the State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS) 2023 on October 20.
Addressing the introductory session, commissioner & secretary School Education & SCERT, Kevileno Angami said that the SEAS 2023 will be conducted in November 3 in line with the rest of the states and union territories.
In Nagaland, she said, the survey will cover 1643 schools.
She mentioned that it will cover 805 government schools, 800 private schools and 38 central schools in the state. SEAS shall cover about 36, 833 students involving 1843 field investigators.
She therefore asked all the state holders- Directorate of School Education, State Council of Educational Research & Training, Nagaland Board of School Education and Samagra Shiksha Nagaland to make necessary preparation for the successful conduct of the survey in the state.
Joint mission director Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Dr. Bijano Murry said as a run up to SEAS, NCERT conducted a training program for all the states in the month of August at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Island for which officials from SCERT, Samagra Shiksha and NBSE were deputed.
She said SEAS was conducted earlier in 2014 but follow up was not given much importance.
“So this time through the present State Educational Achievement Survey 2023 we hope that the state will be able to take it further through proper follow up action”, she said.
The introductory session was chaired by deputy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Kelhikha Kenye.
It may be noted that SEAS 2023 will be conducted under the banner of PARAKH-NCERT on November 3 to assess the learning levels of children in Grades III, VI and IX. Dignitaries with district/block level functionaries at the training programme for SEAS exercise in Kohima on October 20.
