Nagaland: PTYO inspects NH-129A road construction; seeks cooperation

DIMAPUR

Peren Town Youth Organisation (PTYO) team visited the ongoing road construction site at NH-129A Package 1 town area stretch on December 8, 2025, to assess the progress of the crucial infrastructure project aimed at improving road connectivity in the region.
According to PTYO president Machi Reunim and general secretary, Heluichube, during the visit the team met with the Site Engineer and Public Relations Officer (PRO) and expressed appreciation for the quality of work being carried out. The organisation commended the contractor and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) for adhering to prescribed standards and emphasised the importance of maintaining workmanship in line with the approved Detailed Project Report (DPR).
PTYO also urged the public to extend cooperation and support throughout the construction period. It reminded residents and stakeholders to respect the ongoing work and refrain from any form of disturbance or interference.
Opposing acts of violence, threats or extortion by unauthorised groups or individuals, PTYO cautioned that such actions could jeopardise the timely and quality execution of the project. It further warned that any individual or group found indulging in such activities would not be tolerated and justice would be ensured.
“The successful completion of this road project is vital for the development of our town and region. It is crucial that the public supports this effort by allowing the work to proceed without unnecessary hindrances,” PTYO stated.
Reiterating that the construction, once completed, would greatly benefit the local community by improving transportation links and contributing to economic growth, PTYO urged the contractor, NHIDCL and local authorities to continue their diligent work while maintaining communication with the public for updates.
