Nagaland: PVBC Christian Youth Endeavour marks 75th anniversary

Christian Youth Endeavour (CYE) of Phek Village Baptist Church (PVBC) celebrated its 75th anniversary on December 18 under the theme “Taste to shine together” (Psalms 34:8).
Vepakho Vese, youth secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), and Rev. Vesito Venuh, pastor of PVBC, were the speakers of the celebration. Greetings were shared by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, Phek Area Baptist Church CYE chairman Vekhotso Rhakho, PVBC CYE former chairman Shevotso Huire and former youth director Vebuzo Keyho. PVBC church board advisor Niichicho Venuh released the 75th anniversary souvenir. In his message, Dr. Vezhoto Soho, chairman of the anniversary committee, urged the youth to stand firm in faith, persevere in doing good and resist negative influences with a commitment to testify together the goodness of God.
CBCC executive secretary Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o commended PVBC CYE for attaining 75 years, expressing hope that the milestone would usher in a vibrant church and moral society. Azo, in his souvenir message, described the 75-year journey as a testament to unwavering faith and dedicated service, noting that CYE has nurtured youth, forged leaders and passed down a legacy of faith through generations.
Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho appreciated the positive role of the Youth Ministry in contributing to peace and progress in the village. It was noted that Vekuzhie Huire served as the first chairman of PVBC CYE during 1950–1951.
