CorrespondentKOHIMA, Oct 25 (NPN)

The 33rd general conference of the Pochury Women Organisation Kohima (PWOK) was held at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima, under the inspiring theme “Threads of Time.” The event brought together women from diverse walks of life to celebrate their shared heritage, achievements, and vision for the future.
The first session of the conference was graced by Joy Thusi Fithu, Commandant of the 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion, as the special guest, while the second session featured Chievithsii Nyuthe, deputy commissioner of state taxes, as the guest of honour.
In her address, Joy Thusi Fithu expressed her joy at being “back with my Pochury people,” calling it a homecoming filled with nostalgia and pride. She reflected on the evolution of Pochury women, stating, “We have come a long way, and along with the rest of Naga society, we have confidently stepped into the 21st century. We are second to none.”
Drawing on the conference theme, Fithu beautifully likened time to an unbroken thread connecting the past, present, and future, weaving a tapestry of shared experiences, choices, and relationships. She urged women to cultivate qualities of discipline, sincerity, commitment, and compassion, and to lead their society with unity and vision.
The second session of the conference featured a role play on cultural folk tales and traditional practices, chaired by Sierhetsii Phoji, Vice President of PWOK. The event also witnessed the installation of new office bearers, with brief speeches from the outgoing president and the president-elect. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vitoli Nyusou.
