Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC) Dimapur marked Ayurveda Day by organizing a plantation drive and prakriti assessment camp at Government College, Dimapur on October 23. The initiative aligned with this year’s theme of promoting holistic health and environmental sustainability.
A press release from research officer in charge RARC, informed that the event kicked off with a Prakriti assessment camp, offering health checkups for students and staff. Participants underwent Haemoglobin percentage (Hb%) and Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests as part of a comprehensive health screening effort.
In tandem with the health camp, a plantation drive was conducted on the college grounds, focusing on planting medicinal plants. This initiative sought to raise awareness of the therapeutic benefits of traditional botanical resources while encouraging biodiversity preservation.
Dr. Deepak Rahangdale, Research Officer (Ayurveda) at RARC Dimapur, introduced Ayurveda Day, stressing the relevance of Ayurvedic principles in preventive health and wellness in today’s healthcare.
Nikhil Krishna, Research Assistant (Botany), delivered a talk on the importance of botanical gardens and medicinal plants, highlighting their role in species conservation and encouraging student involvement in eco-friendly initiatives.
The event was met with enthusiasm from the college community, contributing to both health awareness and environmental conservation efforts.
