As the third wave of the Covid is subsiding in the country, the weekly sample positivity rate of Nagaland has also fallen to 1.9 per cent, a drop by over 2.5 per cent as compared to the previous week which was 4.5 per cent.
According to the weekly bulletin released by the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department on Saturday, weekly sample positivity in six districts– Phek, Zunheboto, Wokha, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire stood at zero during the week (February 19-25).
H&FW said that cases have continued to decline for the past four weeks as just 55 new cases were reported during the week.
The department however urged people to not lower their guards and also stressed on wearing mask in public places and to get inoculated against Covid-19.
H&FW once again reminded that vaccination including precautionary (3rd dose) dose among the high risk (elderly and those with comorbidities) was most essential to reduce deaths and hospital admissions as Covid-19 disease was here to stay. During the week, only one Covid-19 death was reported from Dimapur, the department said, adding that the patient had comorbidities and was not vaccinated.
Since the start of the pandemic, the department said that 4.59 lakh Covid-19 tests have carried out till date while over 15 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered across the state.
State logs 6 fresh cases, 1 death: Nagaland on Saturday recorded six fresh Covid-19 positive cases while one more death was reported during the day.
Of the fresh cases, three were from Dimapur, two from Kohima and one in Wokha, taking the total caseload to 35401.
Further, one more death was reported in Dimapur, pushing the death toll to 755 (including 4 non-Covid deaths but with positivity).
