A meeting convened in the deputy commissioner’s conference room, Mon, on January 29, 2026 adopted resolutions in connection with land acquisition for NH-702 (Longleng-Mon-Tizit Road).
In a notice, DC Mon Wennyei Konyak said the meeting resolved to conduct a survey from February 2-20, 2026 by teams comprising district administration, respective village councils, student bodies of affected villages, and KU units, and to submit reports by February 27, 2026.
For the stretch from Chi to Totok Chingnyu, the house decided that a combined team of district administration, Konyak Union, KSU, police and affected village councils would conduct surveys and submit reports by February 15, 2026.
Reiterating the January 22, 2026 order as part of the resolution, the meeting decided that no new structures, buildings, extensions, or permanent or temporary constructions of any nature would be constructed, initiated, or allowed along the proposed alignment and RoW of NH-702 (Longleng-Mon-Tizit Road from Km 33.248 to Km 177.00).

The meeting also resolved immediate cessation of all ongoing construction of structures and illegal plantation along the NH-702 stretch.
It further resolved that concerned village councils would act against newly constructed structures and ensure no further construction was undertaken, failing which action, including dissolution and de-recognition of village councils and GBs, would follow.
