The AICF Chess for Everyone FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026, organized by the Inter School Chess Association – Ngwalwa Circle under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation and the Nagaland Chess Association, is witnessing gripping contests after the completion of four rounds at Ngwalwa, Peren.
Following Round 4, Doulo Vesho and Icicang Haikam have emerged as joint leaders with 4 points each, setting the stage for a crucial top-board showdown in the upcoming round. Close on their heels is Ilung Haikam with 3½ points. A strong chasing pack on 3 points includes Akangzang Haikam, Ekram Haque, Jeremy Nitova Zhimomi, Lungliaheile Hau, Isipeung Doson, Kediteilungbe, and Tezeve Doulo, all firmly in contention.
The much-anticipated Round 5, scheduled for February 12 at 11:00 AM, will feature a decisive clash on
Board 1 between joint leaders Vesho Doulo and Icicang Haikam.
On Board 2, Haikam Akangzang will take on Ilung Haikam, while other key encounters include Ekram Haque versus Jeremy Nitova Zhimomy and Lungliaheile Hau versus Isipeung Doson.
The tournament is being conducted under the supervision of tournament director Maciding Doson, chief arbiter FA Vekuho Soho, and deputy chief arbiter SNA Mengise Haikam, along with the active support of the ISCA-NC organizing team.
With several players still in strong contention for the top honors, the remaining rounds promise thrilling finishes and high-quality chess action for enthusiasts and spectators alike.
