A Rural Experience Centre (REC) was inaugurated at the Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) Mission Centre, Longleng on November 4, marking a significant step toward grassroots empowerment and innovation.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Community Care & Empowering Society (CCES), was supported by the Customized Energy Solutions Foundation (CESF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W. Manpai, who attended the event as special guest, emphasized the need for region-specific interventions and lauded the REC’s role in promoting rural development through appropriate technology and community-focused solutions.
PBCA executive secretary, N. Tialemba Phom, in his welcome address, stressed the importance of implementing projects tailored to rural needs. Rupesh Badkhal, Program Manager, CESF and UNDP, shared insights into the background and objectives of the REC initiative.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Yingchu Phom of CCES, with Rev. Mongvai leading the opening prayer. The event concluded with a benediction, live machinery demonstrations, and interactive sessions with farmers and community members.
