S. Phangnon Konyak attends JGD at University of Delhi

Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Nagaland S. Phangnon Konyak, participated in the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (JGD) 2024 celebration organized by the Centre for Tribal Studies, University of Delhi on November 17.

The event marked the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, paying tribute to his legacy and celebrating the rich heritage of India’s tribal communities.


The day, dedicated by prime minister Narendra Modi to the courage, culture, and contributions of India’s tribal communities, emphasized the transformative recognition of tribal heritage over the past decade.

Highlighting this, Konyak remarked on the deep connection PM Modi shares with tribal communities, stating that his efforts go beyond policy to foster a personal and meaningful bond.


Expressing gratitude to the Centre for Tribal Studies, Konyak thanked the director and faculty for inviting her to the event. She expressed hope that the Centre would continue to serve as a cornerstone of learning, fostering deeper understanding and appreciation of India’s tribal culture and contributions.
