Sacred Heart Church, Zhadima-II celebrated its 25th anniversary, marking 25 years of faith and service (2000–2025), on Sunday at the church premises in Zhadima village. The jubilee was held under the theme “Ask, Seek, Knock” (Matthew 7:7).
The programme commenced with the unveiling of the Jubilee Monolith by Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, Vicar General, Diocese of Kohima, followed by a solemn Holy Mass with Rev. Fr. Alex Vizo, Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier Church, Kidima, as the main celebrant. In his homily, Fr. Alex Vizo reflected on the importance of prayer, noting that Jesus grew up in a land deeply rooted in prayer. He emphasised that God is with those who call upon His name and urged the faithful to continue asking, seeking, and knocking, reminding them that while God responds to prayers, both the timing and the manner of asking are significant. He further drew from the Gospel of John, quoting Jesus’ words, “I am the vine, you are the branches,” stressing the need for believers to remain united with Christ.
Earlier, Rev. Fr. Kiran VC, priest-in-charge of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Zhadima, delivered the introduction and welcome address. The Liturgy of the Word included readings by Pezachiilie Philip, catechist of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, and Thekrunei Edward, touring catechist, while the Gospel was read by deacon Dominic. Kevishinuo Philomena led the congregation in the prayer of the faithful.
Following the Mass, a felicitation programme was held where the jubilee message was delivered by Neichulie Clement, and the jubilee souvenir was unveiled. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Kiyalelie Cyril and the jubilee feast prayer led by Fr. Neisalhou Carolus. The celebration was chaired by Keziengulie Alban, with the Catholic Youth Association, Zhadima, served as the Jubilee choir.
